In the Rush of the Moment

I am a task-oriented person. Give me a job and I will do it. ( I am not asking for more to do, thanks.)

Sometimes, however, I get into the "get-it-done" mode and press on without taking a pause to listen to Him. This morning, our minister, reminded me that it is "all day" that I should be in tune with the Holy Spirit and not just a good portion of my day. Remembering that could have helped me this week. Here is a poem to express what can happen if we aren't constantly feeling His presence.

In the Rush of the Moment

Indiscretions
Things we don't mean to do
But we do

Maybe we had a little warning
A Holy Spirit nudge
But passed it off
In the rush of the moment

Get things done
Brush aside that insignificant twinge
Get on with other stuff

The repercussions
Hurt feelings
Anguish
Apologies
Forgiveness

All because we missed
Listening to Him

Zechariah 4:6
"'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit says the LORD almighty."

Ezekiel 36:26
"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you;I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh."
