Revival

Psalm 104: 30
"When You send Your Spirit, they are created, and You renew the face of the earth."

This morning's sermon was on "Revival". We were encouraged to pray for God's revival this year, in whatever manner He has chosen. Daily, we can see the moral decay of our society. Just read the newspaper or watch TV. Today it happened closer to home.

This morning on our walk, we found littered on the road - papers, cards, receipts. On closer inspection we found two birth certificates, a cheque book and business cards. After picking them up and searching the area for anything else, we continued home. We found a name, located it in the phone book and called. It turns out it was a new neighbour who didn't even know those papers were missing. His unlocked cars had been broken into over the night. I am sure that he is shocked that in our small town something like this had happened. We always feel violated when something is taken from us. I prayed for him, his family and whoever ransacked his cars.

But, God is here. He is with us through everything we do. Our minister asked us to pray for wisdom and revelation; to know the hope of salvation; and to know the power of Jesus. (Ephesians 1: 15-20) With these things we can bring revival to the world. May you feel the power of His Spirit today and throughout this year.

God's Holy Spirit Awakens Our Souls

We are all standing by to receive
God’s Holy Spirit,
But the pilot light
Must be lit.

Once it is illuminated,
The power of the Holy Spirit
Fills us to overflowing.

With this overabundance
Of love and passion for God
We can ignite the fire
In others we meet.

A tiny spark can turn
Into a big flame
For the Lord.

Burn on, burn brightly,
Revival will come.
